A Day in Livonia With Kids
Updated September 24, 2026
Livonia is built for this. The parks are spread evenly across the city, the indoor options are clustered on Plymouth Road, and almost everything has parking at the door.
Start outside while everyone still has energy. Rotary Park at Six Mile and Hubbard is the strongest all-rounder at 4.6 on Google. Castle Gardens Park on Hix Street and Jaycee Park on Pembroke Avenue are the quieter neighborhood options, and Bien Park on Eckles Road works if you are coming from the west side.
Mid-morning snacks are easy: Livonia Italian Bakery and Cafe on Seven Mile (4.6) and Heritage Bakery on Five Mile Rd are both counter-service and quick. Sorella's Cake Studio on Five Mile Rd is the highest-rated bakery in the city at 4.8 if you want something worth photographing.
For lunch, Zo's Good Burger on Six Mile Rd and Bates Burgers on Five Mile Rd are the two kid-proof choices, and Olga's Kitchen on Six Mile Rd is the easy middle ground when nobody can agree.
The afternoon has two indoor anchors. Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park on Plymouth Road handles the run-around hours, and Merri-Bowl Lanes on Five Mile Rd is the classic rainy-day fallback with a 4.4 rating. The Jack E. Kirksey Livonia Community Recreation Center on Hubbard Street is the third option, with pool time on top of the gym floor.
Dinner should be pizza, and Livonia has real depth here. Buddy's Pizza on Plymouth Road is the Detroit-style pick, Two Guys Pizza Pies on Seven Mile sits at 4.6, and Green Lantern Pizza on Newburgh Road is the Northwest Livonia option. Primavera Pizza on Six Mile Rd is the highest-rated at 4.8 if you are willing to wait.
If anyone still has room, Westborn Market on Middlebelt is open late enough for a dessert run on the way home.
