A Coffee Crawl Along Plymouth Road, Livonia
Updated September 24, 2026
Livonia does not have a single coffee street, so a crawl here is a short drive between three or four genuinely good rooms. Do it in this order and you finish near the markets.
Start at Café Au Lait on Plymouth Road. At 4.9 on Google it is the highest-rated coffee shop in the city, and it is the stop to make while your palate is still fresh.
Second, head north to Sycamore Tree Bakery & Cafe on Farmington Road, also 4.9. This is the bakery-first stop, so order something to eat here rather than at the others and you will pace the afternoon properly.
Third, Coffee + Cream on Joy Road (4.7) is the west-side stop and the quietest of the group. It is the right place to sit for an hour if you brought something to read.
Fourth, Haraz Coffee House on Plymouth Road (4.7) closes the loop. It is listed here as a bakery as much as a coffee shop, which tells you what to order, and it is the most social room of the four.
If you want a fifth, BIGGBY COFFEE has two Livonia locations, on Middlebelt Road and on Seven Mile, and both are reliable drive-through stops rather than sit-down ones. Dunkin' on Middlebelt and Starbucks on Middlebelt fill the same role at the south end of the city.
A few practical notes. The whole route is about fifteen minutes of driving end to end, so it works as an afternoon rather than a walk. Weekend mornings are busiest at Café Au Lait and Sycamore Tree, both of which are small. And if you are ending near Seven Mile, Joe's Produce Gourmet Market and Cantoro's Italian Market on Middlebelt are both a two-minute detour, which makes the crawl double as a grocery run.
Anastasia and Katie's Coffee Shop & Cafe on Merriman Road is the wildcard: rated 4.9, but more of a full breakfast-and-sandwich counter than a coffee bar. Save it for a day you are hungry.
